NZ Broadcasting School – Ara
The Executive Option of the Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications enables current working media professionals (generally those with the equivalent of five years full-time industry experience or more) to gain this highly regarded degree inside two years through part time, off-campus study.
Ara are able to offer three additional places in the Journalism specialisation of the Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree starting in 2020. Applications for the degree officially closed 30 September, but are reopening the process, for Journalism applicants only.
The vocationally-focussed qualification offers students entry into the journalism and communications industries via an internship in year 3.
They recently hosted a national conference for tertiary journalism educators [JEANZ] including invited speakers from the major media companies including RNZ, Newshub, TVNZ, Stuff , and Newsroom. They were unanimous the industry needs more qualified journalists. The opportunities are there for students who can write and want to change the world
